Air conditioner losing the fight?

AC Repair in Dunwoody, GA

We'll tell you why your air conditioner quit, minus the jargon, price the fix before we start and get the house cooling down again.

So Why'd the AC Stop Cooling?

Most of the time? A small part gave up after a long, sticky season. Here's the cast of usual suspects, in plain English. The capacitor is a little can that gives the motors their starting jolt, and heat slowly wears it down. The contactor is the switch that tells the outdoor unit to run; its contacts get burned and pitted. Fan motors tire out. The condensate drain grows a gooey clog. And refrigerant can seep out of a pinhole in the coil or the copper tubing so slowly you don't notice until the air turns lukewarm. Every one of those leaves its own fingerprints, and once a technician hears your description and puts meters and gauges on the system, the culprit usually isn't hard to spot. Before you pick up the phone, though, try a few quick checks of your own: is the thermostat on cool and set below room temperature? Did a breaker trip? Does the filter look gray and clogged? Did the float switch on the drain line kill the power? If none of that explains it, we'll take over, and you'll hear what failed and what it costs before any part gets changed.

What AC Trouble Do We Run Into Most?

Pretty much every cooling call we take lands in one of these spots.

  • Lukewarm air

Short on refrigerant, a weak compressor part or a grimy coil, confirmed with gauges and a thermometer.

  • Can't stop starting

Short cycling from a bad control, an iced coil or equipment that's oversized for the house.

  • Frost on the copper

Usually choked airflow or a low charge. We'll thaw it gently and fix why it froze.

  • Drips and puddles

A plugged drain, a split pan or a float switch that's shut things off, sorted out before your ceiling gets stained.

  • Breaker won't stay on

Wiring faults, a stuck motor or a laboring compressor tracked down with care.

  • Noises it didn't use to make

Buzzing, banging, squealing or rattling matched to the fan, contactor, blower or a loose panel.

  • Heat-tired electrical parts

Capacitors and contactors, the parts most likely to quit on a scorcher, tested and swapped.

  • Leaking refrigerant

We find and seal the leak first, then recharge to the right level, never the other way around.

What's an AC Repair Visit Like?

  1. You give us the clues

What's it doing, when'd it start and how old's the unit, roughly? Ice, water, odd smells and breaker trips all help us decide where to look first.

  2. We find it and quote it

The technician checks the indoor and outdoor halves, tests the electrical parts and reads pressures and temperatures. You'll get the plain-talk version and the cost before anything's swapped.

  3. Fix it, then feel the vents

Once you've said yes, the repair gets done and the system runs a full cooling cycle. The technician confirms the air at the registers is truly cold and the drain's flowing freely.

Why Let Us Handle Your AC?

  • Tested, never guessed

A part gets replaced because a test proved it failed, not because it happened to be on the truck.

  • Candid about old units

If an aging system isn't worth fixing, we'll say so, show you why and leave the choice to you.

  • Weekends aren't off-limits

Daytime repairs run seven days a week, so a breakdown doesn't have to sit until the workweek.

  • Proved with a meter
  • Cost before work
  • Cold air verified
  • Seven-day schedule
